COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
We want to share a few guidelines to make sure This Is Living With Cancer remains a supportive and inclusive environment. The comments on posts are from our community and are not created or controlled by Pfizer, but we do monitor users' comments. That means sometimes we have to pull a comment from our social channels. Here's why: our channels are designed to share stories of people living with cancer. We want to receive comments and hear about different experiences—we value each member of our community—but we need to make sure the comments on our channels align with This Is Living With Cancer’s values and will be most helpful to our community. Please understand that comments may be removed if they:
- Mention adverse events: A doctor should always be asked for medical advice about adverse events.
You may report any issues related to Pfizer products by calling Pfizer at 1-800-438-1985 (U.S. only). Or if you prefer, you may contact the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) directly: please visit www.fda.gov/MedWatch, or call 1-800-FDA-1088. If you are outside the U.S., please contact your local health authority. - Talk about a prescription product: We don’t endorse any users' comments, but we do have to consider the regulations that “govern” our industry. That means if a post talks about a pharmaceutical brand from any company—if it’s positive or negative—we need to remove it. There are a few reasons for this. We can't guarantee that it will represent “fair balance.” Product claim ads need to give a fair balance of information about drug risks and drug benefits. It’s required by the law.
- Include medical advice: It’s great to want to help others in the This Is Living With Cancer community. But given how serious unverified medical advice might be, we can’t keep it on our channels. Always remember to consult with a doctor and healthcare team on any medical condition or questions.
- Contain vulgar language: We have to take down comments that contain profanity or vulgar language. We also screen for unkind comments or offensive terms related to ethnic, racial, religious, age or gender orientation groups. We want to make sure everyone is treated with respect.
- Sound “off topic”: This is a tricky one. We're not looking to censor users. Sometimes, though, comments are spam, make unsupported accusations or promote services or products. Please let us know if a post or comment gets deleted and it seems unfair. We can talk about it!
We might run into a comment that we have to remove that isn’t outlined above. We'll try to update this list if we do find a new reason. Please keep in mind that Pfizer (on behalf of This Is Living With Cancer) does have the right to delete any comment or post at its own discretion.
